Regular massage is clinically proven to reduce chronic stress and pain
During your massage session, relaxation begins to permeate your body. Your mind becomes more peaceful, muscles relax to a natural state of rest and your daily anxieties slowly subside. As you relax, you may even notice slower deep breathing, reduced pressure in the head and low-back pain recedes.
Like many of us, you may have experienced those times when a single massage provided amazing, short-term relief from pain or stress. But as you returned to your normal activities, the chronic pain and tension came creeping back over time, contributing to headaches or flare-ups of fibromyalgia, TMJD or old injuries.
Long-term relief
Consistent regular massage tends to increase the benefits you’ll receive. Your chronic discomforts and conditions can actually improve long term with a series of massage sessions. With regular massage, you may also notice that you don’t feel the effects of excess stress as much or that, due to increased body awareness, you use your body in ways that cause less strain. You may observe that your old pain patterns aren’t kicking in to the degree that they used to. Gradually, you may enjoy an increased sense of overall well-being and the awareness of what it feels like to be truly relaxed.
How often should you come in?
The frequency of sessions varies from person to person. Depending on the intensity of the pain or stress you experience, you may want to come in as frequently as once a week or as little as once a month, to prevent the build-up of strain.
At Willow Tree Massage Therapy we will assist in finding you the best massage techniques and appropriate therapist to accommodate your specific needs. We don’t subscribe to the one size fits all approach and will be happy to work at your specific direction or make recommendations for the session based on our training and professional experience.
